From the Indian Flower, inspired by East Asian floral art in the early 18th century, to the development of the German Flower in the 1740s, Meissen’s floral painting gradually evolved from decorative patterns toward freer and more naturalistic representations. Around 1755, flowers were increasingly arranged as individual blossoms or bouquets across the surface of porcelain, establishing one of Meissen’s most enduring floral traditions.
By the 19th century, Meissen’s floral painting had developed further into a distinctly naturalistic style. Strewn Flowers, Strewn Roses, and Blumenbukett—the bouquet form—became among Meissen’s most characteristic floral subjects, with the natural bouquet composition placing greater emphasis on the individual form, colour and detail of each flower.
This piece presents a particularly charming Blumenbukett of the period. At the centre, roses, poppies, violets, yellow blossoms and delicate blue flowers come together in a flourishing bouquet, with foliage naturally intertwined and butterflies and tiny insects appearing among the flowers. Each botanical element retains its individual character, while together they form a beautifully balanced floral still life.
The deep cobalt-blue border is outlined with gilding, while four white floral cartouches, each decorated with delicate bouquets, frame the composition and bring an additional richness to the piece.
From East Asian inspiration to the naturalistic bouquet, Meissen spent centuries transforming floral painting into one of the most iconic and enduring traditions of European porcelain.

此作品正呈現這一時期迷人的 Blumenbukett。盤心以玫瑰、罌粟、紫羅蘭、黃色花卉與藍色小花組成盛放的花束，枝葉自然交錯，蝴蝶與細小昆蟲穿梭其間。保留不同花種各自的姿態與特色，卻又共同形成一幅完整的花卉靜物。
深邃的鈷藍邊框以金彩勾勒，四方白色花葉飾牌再繪以細小花束，使中央花卉更加鮮明華麗。
從東方花卉的啟發，到自然花束的成熟，Meissen 用數百年的時間，將花卉發展成最經典、也最令人著迷的瓷器藝術之一。
